Relationships Take Two! Relationships between Nurses and Nursing Assistants.

Relationships Take Two!
Relationships Between Nurses and Nursing Assistants

Having worked for Years in Hospitals I have come in contact with a lot of Healthcare workers especially Registered Nurses and Nursing Assistants. Sad but True there is Relationship issues between the Two. Not sure Why but it is Real.

RN's and CNA' S are supposed to Work together to Provide care for Patients. What happens when the 2 come together on Nursing units is not Working together.  Nursing Assistants work under the supervision of RN's.  The Patient assignment could be anywhere from  7 to 12 Patients...more or less depending on the Type of Patient Unit they are working on.

Some Hospitals have chosen to Eliminate the use of dietary services on Patient Units..so the Nursing Staff, the CNA's are Reponsible to Pass out the Trays,  also Feed Patients, and assist Patients who need Assistant. Then they are Reponsible to Pick up the Trays. In order to Appropriately get this done
It requires working together and communicating to your co-worker, the RN or the CNA. This is just one thing that can add Stress to a already stressful situation.

Relationships require Communication. If  the RN and the CNA has not created a rappore, meaning they have not had some sort of Positive interaction....like Hello my name is Mary...or it's nice to work with you...some type of Communication. The whole day could be More Stressful day than it has to because the two have not interacted. Sad but this happens.

There are so many things that could effect  Relationships with RN's and  CNA's while at work. It could be the assignment, added Responsibility given to you or just not starting your day on a Good note, by just saying Hello to your Co-worker for the Day.

Relationships Take Two!
